Dr. Drew Carter lost his son Robby in a car accident while his wife was driving. And seemingly lost his whole family as well. His wife, Julia, is emotionally absent to Drew and their daughter Kayla.
When Dr. Miller sends Drew a foster child leukaemia patient, Johnny, Drew sees a chance to heal his family. With Kayla alienated by her mother and Drew feeling more distant to his wife, he adopts Johnny against his wife’s wishes. Johnny doesn’t know what he’s in for, but trusts God, and is convinced he’s here for a special mission. He just doesn’t know what it is… until he enters Dr. Carter’s world.
